Brenda Roberts

Funeral services for Brenda Roberts, 86, of Huntington will be held Monday, February 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Fr. Joby Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Roberts was born June 25, 1938 in North Chicago, Illinois, to the late Olga (Chudy) and David Leroy Vanucha, and died Friday, February 14, 2025 in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Roberts had resided in Huntington for 51 years. She was a member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick Catholic Church. She also served as a lector, was a member of the Ladies Guild, and sang in the choir. She loved to read and crochet.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and David Groce of Huntington; son and fiancée, Scott Roberts and Heather Gentry of Tyler; granddaughters and spouses, Susan and Chris Shelton, Shannon and Jake Guy, and Sarah Groce; sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Mike Chadwick of Houston; brother and sister-in-law, Harold C. and Melissa Bourne of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Roberts in 2023; granddaughter, Courtney Swann; and brother, Martin Roger Bourne.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic School, 2118 Lowry Street, Lufkin, Texas 75901.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
