Bobby Ervin Porter, Jr.

Funeral services for Bobby Ervin Porter, Jr., 69, of Diboll will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Comstock officiating. Interment will follow in Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mr. Porter was born July 19, 1957 in Houston, Texas to Edna Mae Padgett and Bobby Ervin Porter, Sr., and died Sunday, September 27, 2026 in a local hospital.

He graduated from Diboll High School in 1976 and worked for Temple White and Temple Inland in Diboll. He was known as the walking man, and loved numbers, Star Trek and writing stories. He was a gentle caring person and a smart intelligent thinker. He was a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle, son-in-law, and brother-in-law. To know him was to love him. Mr. Porter loved helping his family and would do anything for them.

Survivors include his wife, Nelda (Halsell) Porter of Diboll; mother, Edna Porter of Diboll; sisters, Barbara Hutson of Diboll, Shirley Smith and husband David of Nacogdoches, Tammy Parrish, and Wanda Griffin and husband Gary, all of Diboll; brother, Randy Porter of Diboll; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Porter, Sr.; daughter, Molly Rose Porter; brother, Calvin Porter; and best friend, Ricky Kee.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the T.L.L. Temple Memorial Library, 300 Park Street, Diboll, Texas 75941.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
