Funeral services for Bobby Clinton Hawkins, 81, of Pollok will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Cary Modisett officiating, and Masonic rites under the auspices of the Homer Masonic Lodge #254 A.F. & A.M. Interment will follow in Huntington Oddfellows Cemetery.
Mr. Hawkins was born October 9, 1943 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Annie Mae (Crain) and Johnnie Clinton Hawkins, and died Saturday, April 26, 2025 in a local nursing home.
Mr. Hawkins retired from Champion Paper Mill. He was a member and past Master of the Homer Masonic Lodge #254 A.F. & A.M., and also a member of the Angelina Masonic Lodge #1263 A.F. & A.M. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a great gardener and blacksmith. He loved history and enjoyed traveling to see famous historical sites. Mr. Hawkins was a loving husband and great dad. He loved his family dearly. He loved the Lord and attended Redtown Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie Clinton and Katrina Hawkins, J. Dewayne “JD” and Christy Hawkins, Greg Greenwell and Diane Devers, Tony Lee Greenwell, Terry Lynn and Karen Greenwell, all of Hudson; daughters and son-in-law, Donna Ann and Steve Rieves of Hudson, and Pam Andrus of Groveton; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Betty Hawkins; granddaughter, Destiny Greenwell; great-grandson, Legend Williamson; and sister, Sandra Kurth.
Pallbearers will be Masons from the Homer Masonic Lodge #254 A.F. & A.M.
Honorary pallbearers will be James “Red” Loving, Arthur Murrell Jones, Keith Christopher, Earnest Rowe, Glenn Thornton, grandsons, and great-grandsons.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Legend Williamson Foundation, c/o Commercial Bank of Texas, 600 S. 1st Street, Lufkin, Texas 75901.
The family extends special thanks for the loving care of Huntington Health and Rehabilitation, Wells LTC, and Harbor Hospice.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
