Bobby M. Dykes

Funeral services for Bobby M. Dykes, 66, of Huntington will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Saron Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Len Singleton officiating. Interment will follow in the Dunk Havard Cemetery.

Mr. Dykes was born February 23, 1957 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Naomie (Grimes) and Hubert Myrf Dykes, and died Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in The Woodlands.

Mr. Dykes was a lifetime resident of the Saron Community. He had worked in construction for Brown & Root and was also a logger for many years. Mr. Dykes was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed playing Bingo and was a “doer”, especially loving tinkering with motors and other equipment. He loved and adored his grandchildren. Mr. Dykes was a member of Saron Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Courtney Brittain and husband Jamey of Center, Aundra Hanks and fiancé Cory of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Ashley Dykes of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Julian Hanks and wife Chelbie of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Gracelyn Brittain and Kollyn Brittain, both of Center; great-grandchildren, Hadley Hanks and Harden Hanks, both of Lake Charles, Louisiana; sisters, Gayann Dykes and Carolyn Sue Dykes, all of Saron; nephews, Chris Dykes and wife Autumn of Saron, Wesley DuBose and wife Cyreena of Willis; and many other special loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Jamey Brittain, Cory Fontenot, Julian Hanks, Chris Dykes, Wesley DuBose, Jason Gunn, Dalton Weaver, and Mack Weaver.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Lewis and William Dean Leviness.

The Dykes family would like to thank the CVIMU Unit at Memorial Herman for their gracious care and thoughtfulness.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home in Huntington.
