Bobby "Bob" Almand

Funeral services for Bobby “Bob” Almand, 81, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Jerome Brimmage and Pastor Laura Campbell officiaing. A private family graveside service will be held at Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Almand was born October 1, 1937 in Italy, Texas to the late Mary Edna and Homer Almand, and died Monday, December 10, 2018 in Thackerville, Oklahoma.

Mr. Almand had resided in Lufkin for seven years after living in Sam Rayburn. He was the General Manager of Rayburn Country for more than 25 years. He was an amazing Pappy to his whole family. He believed none of us could do any wrong, and spoiled all of us rotten. He loved deeply and unconditionally. We loved him and are so thankful he was our Pappy. Forever in our hearts. He was a member of the Senior Citizens Domino club and faithfully attended the Believer’s Bible Men’s Breakfast. Mr. Almand was a member of the Musslewhite Sunday School class of Lufkin First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his son, Scott Almand of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Tammy Almand of Lufkin; granddaughter, Casi Burchinal and husband Skyler of Paris; grandson, Cody Almand of Lufkin; great-granddaughters, Addisyn Burchinal, Alyvia Burchinal, and Avery Burchinal, all of Paris; brother, Lyndon Almand and wife Raymonda of Bryan; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his one true love of 53 years, Carolyn Pou Almand.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
