Blanche (Simms) Allen Bruner

Funeral services for Blanche (Simms) Allen Bruner, 94, of Lufkin will be held Monday, April 11, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Pentecostal Church with Brother Joe Stanley and Brother Wayne Rice officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.

Mrs. Bruner was born April 12, 1927 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Charlotte (Allen) and Burke Simms, and died Saturday, April 9, 2022 at The Joseph House.

Blanche was a life-long resident of Lufkin. She was a Beautician and worked at Lufkin State School for 13 years. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Pat Allen of Lufkin; stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Lewis Johnson, Carolyn and Ronnie Johnson, Darlene Wissing; grandchildren, Jennifer Allen, Jimmy Tyler, Jr., Robert Johnson, Christy Work, Kyle Johnson, Rhonda Goertz; sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Marion Rhodes; sister-in-law, Margie Simms; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and best friend, Shirley Hambrick.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, James “Bood” Allen and Arvil Bruner; and brothers, Aubrey Simms and Ronnie Simms.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Vyvial, Carson Bynum, Garrett Vyvial, Sidney Basham, Seth Basham, and Scotty Cosby.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at First United Pentecostal Church.
