Blaine Gay

My father, my friend. Blaine was a man of many words, and always had a way of looking at life that made you think. I never questioned his love for us. He showed as much as he could. The love he had for my mom showed me how a man was supposed to love a woman. Seeing him kiss my mom was something special you felt that they had.

Man, the stories he has… You would think his was the greatest book. His past was full of color that I could listen to for hours. A lot of stories of the feed lot. Man, the smell he said you’d never forget. Like it was burned in his mind. One day, we went by one; boy was he right. The smell is the worst. He always encourages us to see as much as we can. He even talked about this place so beautiful that he couldn’t put to words for us. It was something we had to see. Making a task for me. He gave me a mission for his last wish… Red River son, Red River.

I will forever miss a man as good as he was. I felt it when I lost him, and I’ll never forget him. It’s so hard to write this without crying. God, The football… I knew more than I would have liked because he loved Denver sport teams and every weekend, we would have a cookout and we would watch the game. He would talk through it though. But if the game was on, he was happy. Vitamins…man he swore there was some great vitamin out there that would make you have this great energy. It would make me smile. He was their greatest salesman! Had me thinking I had to buy some.

Man, the workout stuff. Walk through my parent’s home and you’ll think there was a workout instructor here. Always made me try the latest and greatest. I am going to miss him for that. He was happy, no matter what we would be doing if we were here with him. I would go on forever with these. But I couldn’t put the words on this. That would show you how much love he had for us.
