Binis Iles "B.I." Whitworth

Funeral services for Binis Iles “B.I.” Whitworth, 89, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Louie Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Whitworth was born August 19, 1931 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Clara Louise (Busby) and William David Whitworth, and died Saturday, September 5, 2020 in Lufkin.

Mr. Whitworth was a lifetime resident of Angelina County. During his career he worked for Land O’ Pines Dairy Products, Texas Foundries for 20 plus years, W.A. DuBose, and retired as a rig engineer at Western Company. He worked hard all his life and especially enjoyed raising cattle and operating machinery. He and his brother M.C. Hanks particularly enjoyed excavation. Mr. Whitworth loved his grandchildren and was known as “PawPaw”. He attended Lancewood Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Gay Whitworth of Lufkin; daughter, Janice DuBose of Lufkin; grandchildren, Misty DuBose of Nacogdoches, Clint DuBose of Lufkin; Sunny Manning and fiancé Mike Hollis of Jasper, Lacy Shoemaker and husband Dwayne of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, John Michael McShan of College Station, Whitney Craigen and husband Brandon of Sour Lake, Kylie Jo Robertson and husband Jordan of Nacogdoches, Hannah Grace Shoemaker and Claire Elizabeth Shoemaker, both of Lufkin; great-great-grandson, Owen Robertson of Nacogdoches; extended family, Rose Pinner and her family; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and the mother of his children, Geneva (Brock) Whitworth.

Pallbearers will be Sam Anderson, Ronald Womack, Terry Clifton, Tommy Buschman, Dwayne Shoemaker, and Johnny Johnson.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning prior to the services.
