Billy Mack Whitworth, Sr.

December 12, 1942 — January 26, 2025

Funeral services for Billy Mack Whitworth, Sr., 82, of Spring will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Corrigan Chapel with Brother Morgan Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery.

Billy was born December 12, 1942 in Chester, Texas to the late John Wesley (Buck) Whitworth and Geneva (Watson) Whitworth, and after living a beautiful life devoted to others, he passed away the evening of Saturday, January 26, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Bill grew up in the Piney Woods of East Texas alongside his family and friends, developing a love of nature, hunting, fishing and football. Bill attended Chester High School where he met Ann, his beloved wife of 60 years. They married on May 18, 1963 and together forged a wonderful life in Spring, Texas.

Bill was a devoted and loving father to Wendy and Billy and took great joy in being a parent, serving as volunteer for an endless array of activities for various sports, band, etc. Moreover, he fully extended that same love and devotion to Wendy’s husband, Carlos, and Billy’s wife, Michele. He also endeavored to pass along a love of the great outdoors to his family and couldn’t wait for the annual hunting trip to Colorado with his son, brothers, brothers-in-law, and nephews. Additionally, his caring and kindness extended to neighbors that were, and still are, like family. The same can be said of his coworkers at UVAir; he enjoyed work as much as relaxation. Bill served as a great role model for consideration, manners, and hospitality. He loved people, and they felt it.

Bill’s greatest pride and joy was being a grandfather (Daddy Bill) to his beautiful grandchildren: Camden Whitworth and Sophia Cruz in 2007, Dylan and Eliott in 2012. He absolutely savored every moment possible, and they will dearly miss him, the life lessons and the fun that he imparted.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, laughter and enough stories to fill volumes.

Survivors include his daughter; Wendy Cruz (Carlos); son, Billy Whitworth, Jr. (Michele); and his four precious grandchildren, Sophia, Camden, Dylan and Eliott.

He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Ann (Stanford) Whitworth; his parents, John Wesley (Buck) and Geneva Whitworth; and brothers, Richard (Dick) and Jerrel Whitworth.

Pallbearers will be Billy Mack Whitworth, Jr., Carlos Pierre Cruz, Camden Sawyer Whitworth, Richard Adam Stanford, Dylan James Whitworth, Clenon (Bo) Stanford, Eliott Jackson Whitworth, Ron Whitworth, Sophia Elisabeth Cruz, Cory Whitworth, James Everett Whitworth, Mike Hughes, Brian Martin, and Johnny Whitworth.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Whitworth, Don Cryer, John Wesley Whitworth, Jr., Rusty Hughes, Dennis Whitworth, Eddie Lewis, Chad Whitworth, Rick Lewis, Wes Whitworth, Doug Hughes, Casey Whitworth, and Scott Rayburn.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
