Billy Clark Lewing

Funeral services for Billy Clark Lewing, 83, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Todd Core officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment in the Carroway Family Reception Room.

Mr. Lewing was born September 1, 1934 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Minnie Lee (Lowe) and Marion Rufus Lewing, and died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in Lufkin. He was raised in the Keltys Community.

Mr. Lewing was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He retired from Texas Foundries in 1997 following 29 years of employment, then worked as a greeter at Sam’s Club for almost 20 years. Mr. Lewing loved to hunt, fish, was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed reading western novels. His favorite author was Louis L’Amour. He was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Skinner) Lewing of Lufkin; son, Keith Lewing and wife Betty of Lufkin; daughters, Rhonda (Lewing) Dunn and Rita (Lewing) Burgess and husband Dwayne, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Kristi (Lewing) Smith, Jenny (Lewing) Caldera, Clark Lewing, Tyler Lewing, David Lewing, Kimberly (Dunn) Palacio, Zackery Dunn, Kelly Mott, Sarah Burgess, and Ashley Burgess; 13 great-grandchildren; stepsons, Russell Harvey and wife Kathy of Corrigan and Craig Harvey and wife Tami of Lakeland, Florida; step-grandchildren, Corey Harvey, Andrew Harvey, Sterling Harvey, and Hunter Harvey; and a host of nieces, nephews and family friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Lucille (Lewing) and Herman Parrish; and brother, Harvey Brooks Lewing.

Pallbearers will be Clark Lewing, Tyler Lewing, David Lewing, Zackery Dunn, Kelly Mott, and Kristi (Lewing) Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Donny Parrish and Jason Parrish.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
