Graveside services for Billy Calvin Hardin, 75, of Huntington will be held Sunday, October 27, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Cochran Cemetery with Brother Milton “Scooter” Kelly officiating.
Mr. Hardin was born December 1, 1948 in Paris, Texas to the late Ruth (Allen) and Raymond C. Hardin, and died Tuesday, October 22, 2024 in a local hospital.
Mr. Hardin worked for Temple Inland as a machinist and supervisor for 40 plus years. He was a devout Christian, prayed daily, and was a member of Oak Flat Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Hardin loved fishing and hunting, and especially enjoyed spending time with family. He loved animals and was a dog person, sharing their hatred of squirrels. He even had a pet pig. He loved horses and motorcycles and would drag race in anything he could run.
Survivors include his wife, Julia Hardin of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Kristy and Jarod Dale of Flint; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Lynn Hardin of Diboll, Coy and Candice Hardin, and Jeremy Hardin, all of Huntington; sister, Wanda Messer of Tallahassee, Florida; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Loretta Cummings and Glenda Cone; and brothers, Leon Hardin and Robert “Bob” Hardin.
Pallbearers will be Pat Muckleroy, Jerry Coker, Norman Poteet, Arturo Sanchez, Julian Sanchez, Drew Youngblood, Allen Bailey, and Jeremy Hardin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Hardin, Pete Olvera, George Landrum, and employees from Temple Inland Fiberboard Maintenance.
