Funeral services for Billie Lou Reynolds, 93, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Bob Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.

Mrs. Reynolds was born October 12, 1930 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Maggie Louella (Riley) and George William Modisette, and died Wednesday, March 20, 2024 in a local hospice facility.

Mrs. Reynolds was an educator and spent most of her career teaching high school math at Lufkin High School. She headed up the Academic Decathlon program. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Lufkin Chapter #382 for more than 50 years and the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution since 2016. She was a lifetime member of Redland Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and loved her church family. Mrs. Reynolds was dedicated to her Lord, family, church and friends. She cherished her family and their family reunions, in which she was always instrumental in getting set up.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Glen and Pam Reynolds of Cibolo, Benton and Deb Reynolds of Irving; grandchildren and spouses, Emily Reynolds, Andrew and Morgan Reynolds, Jonas and Val Joiner, Sarah Joiner, Trey and Charlotte Reynolds; great-granddaughter, Eloise Reynolds; brother, Jerry Modisette; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2013, Thomas Benton Reynolds; great-grandson, Thomas Glen Reynolds; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ennis and Belle Modisette, Freddie and Gwen Modisette; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Geraldine and Faine Allen, Betty and Jesse Riley, and Juanita and Lawrence Toney.

Pallbearers will be Jonas Joiner, Trey Reynolds, Andrew Reynolds, Wes Paben, Tommy Paben, and Cody Johnson.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
