Interment will follow in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery.
Billie Jean Capps entered this life on March 31, 1942 in Orange, Texas to proud parents of Marvin Ray Baker and Etta Frances Baker. Billie went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
During her time of earthly service to her Lord, she touched more lives than the family will ever know. What we can tell you is that she was an amazing wife and mother. We can share about “The Jelly Making Queen”. We can speak endlessly about her service as an “Encourager“, and how she demonstrated that through cards, flowers and the teaching of God’s Word. We can tell you that she was a “Student of The Bible” even until her last day with us. We lean on the fact that she demonstrated a beautiful “Gift of Friendship” and how she will be missed by many. We can certainly attest to her being a “Mighty Prayer Warrior” for all. We would ultimately be remiss if we didn’t tell you that she “lived out loud” her belief in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior, and shared the gospel with everyone in her path with the hope that they too would come to know Jesus.
Billie Jean’s legacy of service to others and love for Jesus is left to be cherished by husband of 63 years, Donald; her treasures, Susie and husband Joe Jones, Shannon Capps, Sharla and husband Brett Pelham, Sherri and husband Tim Flynt. “Nana’s” love and testimony is left to be cherished by grandchildren, Katie Jo Whitt, Caleb Jones and wife Casidy, Hannah, Hayden and Halle Flynt. Billie will also be missed by her loving siblings, Linda and Richard Smeltzer, Bobby and Rose Mary Baker, Marty and Debby Baker, Danny and Janet Baker and Larry and Cyndi Baker, along with a host of nieces, nephews and special in-laws that meant the world to her.
Pallbearers will be Joe Jones, Brett Pelham, Tim Flynt, Caleb Jones, Hayden Flynt, and Craig Coleman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Baker, Marty Baker, Danny Baker, and Larry Baker.
