Billie Murray Herring

Funeral services for Billie Murray Herring, 91, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. in the McKindree Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Cowart, Pastor David Merritt, and Pastor Keith Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow in the McKindree Cemetery.

Mrs. Herring was born March 26, 1926 in Nacogdoches County, Texas to the late Edith (Lambert) and Hiram Murray, and died Thursday, January 4, 2018 in Lufkin.

Mrs. Herring had resided in Lufkin most of her life. She retired from working in Sales at Yard Stick. She was the oldest living member of McKindree Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Pat Anderson and husband Kenneth of Huntington and Donna Herring Smith of Lufkin; son, Mike Herring and wife Linda of Lufkin; grandchildren and their spouses, Trent Hopson, Todd Hopson, Blake and Tammy Hopson, Christi and Stacy Vann, Rance Herring and Ladina Smith, Chad and Kristi Shofner, and Kacie Lovejoy; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Blanche Murray of San Augustine; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Herring; and son-in-law, Russell Smith.

Pallbearers will be Trent Hopson, Todd Hopson, Blake Hopson, Chad Shofner, Rance Herring, Stacy Vann, Cole Hopson, and Nicholas Shofner.
