Funeral services for Beverly D. Hunter, 75, of Corrigan will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church Corrigan Family Life Center with Reverend Kurt Walker and Pastor Lonnie Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in Union Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Hunter was born October 10, 1950 in Camden, Texas to the late Creola (Walker) and Leon Jefferson, and died Tuesday, August 25, 2026 in Lufkin.
Mrs. Hunter resided in Corrigan most of her life. She loved to cook and enjoyed getting people together for social gatherings. She was a member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Hunter, Jr. of Corrigan; daughters, Nikki Hunter-Nelson and husband Reginald of Grambling, Louisiana, and Tangela Hunter of Corrigan; son, Frank Hunter III and wife Gabriela of Lufkin; grandchildren, Richard Thomas, Tra Thomas, Joshua Thomas, Aniyah Love, Natalie Thomas, Reginald Nelson, Noah Nelson, and Janelle Hunter; great-grandchild, Genesis Thomas; brothers, Leon Walker and wife Emma, Kurt Walker, all of Corrigan, Kent Jackson and wife Debbie, Dennis Jackson, all of Lufkin, Richard Jackson and wife Sabrina of Houston, Donald Jackson of Lufkin, Shawn Jackson of Beaumont, and Joe Walker, Sr. and wife Patricia of Corrigan; sisters, Shirley Jackson of Houston, Pamela Hood of Moscow, Paula Jefferson-Wesley and husband Jay, Pambela Whitaker, and Shannon Jones and husband Barry, all of Houston; sister-in-law, Ruth Guice; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ja’net Hunter; and sister, Katrina Jackson-Mark.
Pallbearers will be Frank Hunter III, Richard Thomas, Tra Thomas, Dexter Guice, and Jonathan Guice.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the services.
