A visitation for Betty Lois Yarbrough, 91, of Nacogdoches will be held Monday, May 20, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carroway Funeral Home in Lufkin. Cremation will follow under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mrs. Yarbrough was born February 1, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Mabel Vesta (Monroe) and Edgar Lawrence Ward, and died Friday, May 17, 2024 at her residence.
Betty spent her career caring for others as a Certified Nurse’s Aide. She loved caring for her family and her time spent with them. In her pastime she enjoyed working puzzles, watching Christmas movies, and trying her luck with lottery tickets. While doing all the things she enjoyed, the thing that could make it even better would be to top it off with candy and ice cream.
Survivors include her daughters, Pamella Posey, Debbie Fenner and husband Jim; son, Sammy Yarbrough and wife Pammy; daughters, Pamela and fiancé Kevin Ragland, Phylecia Loftin and husband Clyde; grandchildren, Cindy, Carla, Tommy, Carrie, Casi, Mischelle, Stephanie, Cathy, Terry, Jr., David, Jr., Brayli, Damien, Dylan, James, Johnathan, Jerry, Porsche, Reagan; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Betty was loved by everyone and most called her “Mom” and “Granny.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 37 years, Edward Yarbrough; sons, David Vaught, Terry Vaught, Tracy Vaught; daughter, Gail Vaught; great-grandson, Chase Brewer; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Lyndon Yates; and brother and sister-in-law, Claude and Carolyn Ward.
