Betty Joyce Hawkins

Funeral services for Betty Joyce Hawkins, 79, of Pollok will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Van Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Huntington Oddfellows Cemetery.

Mrs. Hawkins was born June 8, 1945 in Dallas, Texas to the late Betty Jo (Lee) and Horace Gordan Wade, and died Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in a local nursing home. She resided in Lufkin most of her life and retired from the Lufkin State Supported Living Center. She was a member of Redtown Missionary Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Hawkins of Pollok; daughters and son-in-law, Pam Andrus of Groveton and Donna Ann and Steve Rieves of Hudson; sons and daughters-in-law, Greg Greenwell and Diane Devers, Tony Lee Greenwell, Terry Lynn and Karen Greenwell, all of Lufkin, Donnie and Katrina Hawkins, and J.D. Dewayne and Christy Hawkins, all of Hudson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Williams of Livingston and Lorene Joles of Kemp; brothers and sister-in-law, Tommy and Mona Wade of Gilmer, Donnie Wade, and Michael Wade, both of California; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Destiny Greenwell; great-grandson, Legend Williamson; and brother, Jimmy Wade.

Pallbearers will be Michael Farley, Kevin Williams, Eddie Burks, Kash Ross, Devin Greenwell, Bobby Don Hawkins, Adrian Gonzalez, and Roger Soignet.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Greenwell, Tristan Greenwell, and Jason Burks.

The family extends thanks and appreciation to the staffs of Huntington Healthcare & Rehab and Affinity Hospice for the care given to Mrs. Hawkins.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
