Betty Gale Nerren

Funeral services for Betty Gale Nerren, 60, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kevin Poage officiating. Interment will follow in the Shofner Cemetery.

Mrs. Nerren was born October 4, 1958 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Betty Ruth (Loving) and Eddie Verdell Johnson, and died Saturday, April 20, 2019 at her residence. She was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and had worked at Southland Healthcare as a Nurse Aide. Mrs. Nerren was a member of Clawson Assembly of God. Anyone who knew her knew she enjoyed her Dr. Peppers and shopping.

Survivors include her husband, Rex Nerren of Lufkin; sons, Stephen Wallace of Amarillo, Adam Brent Wallace and Allan Verdell “Bubba” Nerren, both of Lufkin; granddaughter, Samantha Wallace of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Teresa Johnson of Hudson; sister, Linda Johnson of Hudson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James and Lou Farrell of Huntington, James and Charmis Nerren of Lufkin, David and Emily McGaughey of Huntington; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nita and Pete Odstrcil of Huntington; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Jesse C. Johnson; and parents-in-law, Edna and Sam Nerren.

Pallbearers will be Brent Odstrcil, Jorryn Odstrcil, Shawn Farrell, Mark Johnson, Chris Ward, and Russell McCleskey.

The family extends special thanks to her caregiver, Deidre Smith.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
