Funeral services for Betty Jean Fry, 63, of Huntington will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in the Manning Cemetery.
Ms. Fry was born December 31, 1961 in Woodville, Texas to the late William Francis Fry and Ozella Faye (Woodard), and died Wednesday, July 30, 2025 in her residence.
Ms. Fry was a very loving, caring, giving and thoughtful person, who took care of people and even cared for Hospice patients; if she could give you the world she would give it to you. Ms. Fry could feed the entire town; she was a great cook and loved to do it. She had a green thumb and enjoyed tending and nurturing her plants. A true mother to many, and she will be so truly missed. Ms. Fry loved the Lord.
Survivors include her sons, Shawn Fontenot, Justin Fontenot and spouse Savannah; sister, Francis Freeman; nephew, Uriah Abens and spouse Taffi; great nephews, Joshua Abens, Samuel Abens, Abigail Abens, and Benjamin Abens; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to Brother Cary Modisett who was like a father to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Eugene Rawls; sisters, Linda K. Handy, Debbie Ruth Abens and Barbara “Bobby” Hart.
Pallbearers will be Uriah Abens, Samuel Abens, Benjamin Abens, Sean Mathews, Devon Gates, Timothy Wilkinson, Jr., Casey Pinner and Tyler Finegan.
