Funeral services for Betty Lynn Graham Bennett, 79, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Denman Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Jacob Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Bennett was born January 22, 1939 in Pontotoc, Mississippi to the late Mary (Caffey) and Frank Guyton Graham, and died Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Bennett had resided in Edinburg, TX, prior to moving to Georgetown and then Lufkin in 2012. She was an Educator and Administrator at Edinburg CISD. Education was always important to her and most recently she taught at The Mosaic Center in Lufkin. Betty was an avid QVC shopper, Words with Friends player, and counted everyone she met as a lifelong friend. She was extremely organized. She was affectionately known as “Mamaw” by her grandchildren. She was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church and was very involved in the Celebration Choir at DABC.
Survivors include her daughters, Alicia Coyle and husband Dan of Cornelius, NC and Mitzi Hamaker and husband Daren of Lufkin; granddaughter, Megan Porterfield and husband Phillip of Lufkin; grandson, Bryan Hamaker of Houston; great-granddaughter, Kinsley Porterfield of Lufkin; great-grandson, Aiden Porterfield of Lufkin; brother, Frank Guyton “Buddy” Graham and wife Frenchie of Jackson, MS; niece, Dawn Jones and husband Stan of Jackson, MS; great-nephew, Trussell Jones; Grady’s daughters, Laura, Sylvia, and Pamela; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Grady E. Bennett.
Pallbearers will be Dan Coyle, Daren Hamaker, Phillip Porterfield, Bryan Hamaker, Ron Meadows, and Jim Havard.
Honorary pallbearers will be her fellow members of The Esther Sunday School Class of Denman Avenue Baptist Church, who are also her extended family.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
