Betty Jo Martin Adler

Betty Jo Martin Adler passed away May 21, 2024 at the age of 90, after a brief illness. She was born October 30, 1933 in Zavalla, to parents Wilbur and Lola B (Norris) Martin.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy Sharp (wife Karen); daughter, Vida Sullivan (husband Wade); stepdaughter, Melissa Griffin; grandchildren, Stephanie Sullivan Barrett (husband Jim Barrett) Janna Sharp, Jade Henderson (husband Justin), Talley Sullivan Bergfeld, Wade Sullivan, Jr. (wife Susan), Jenny Sullivan McCann (husband James); great-grandchildren, Caroline Graham Barrett, Reagan and Vivian Henderson, Jack and Nash Bergfeld, Kate, Emily and Zechariah McCann; and cousin, JoAnn McCoy.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Doubler Martin; and spouses, W. F. (Ferg) Adler and Charles Griffin.

Betty loved to live life to the fullest and was always up for a social event or adventure. She spent many years traveling the world and living in different countries with Ferg. She also fulfilled a lifelong dream of opening her own dress shop that was called Betty Jo’s Fashion, off the square in Crockett. Staying involved in organizations, Chamber of Commerce and Professional Business Women’s Association was an important part of her life and she took great pride in her fashion shows. Betty loved cooking and having her house filled with friends and family, especially during the holidays.

Betty Adler’s visitation and celebration of life will begin Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 1 o’clock in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel. Services with Reverend Mark A. Newton officiating will follow at 2 o’clock. She will be laid to rest next to her grandfather, John Norris, in the Zavalla Cemetery.
