Mrs. Walker was born December 4, 1947 in Center, Texas to the late Ollie Mae (Youngblood) and Homer Washington Britton, and died Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Hospice in the Pines Inpatient.
Mrs. Walker was an Executive Assistant at Perco Distributors for 20 years. She lived her life with a gentle spirit, a deep love for others, and a faith that guided her every step. Mrs. Walker loved music, finding joy and comfort in song, and she poured love into her nieces and nephews, delighting in the blessing of family.
Bertha lived righteously, walking in quiet confidence with her Lord. She understood that both life and death are held within God’s sovereign plan, and she met that truth with peace. On her birthday, she completed her earthly journey and returned Home - beautifully reflecting the wisdom of Ecclesiastes 7:1, which teaches that the day of one’s passing may hold greater meaning than the day of one’s birth. Her life’s mission was fulfilled, and she went to meet her Savior with readiness and grace.
Survivors include her sons, Aleck K. Bridwell; grandson, Wesley Bridwell, great-grandchild Harper Bridwell; son, Wade Bridwell and wife Holly; grandchildren, Meggan Gonzalez, Morgan Bridwell, Caleb and Taelor Bridwell, and Russell Andrews and Katie; great-grandchildren, Emalyn Gonzalez, Adrian Gonzalez, Scarlett and Harrison; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Pebble Porter and husband Leo, and Dortha Ramsey; and great-granddaughter, Bristell Andrews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Tennessee Foundation, 1525 University Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee 37921.
