Ben Norwood

Graveside services for Ben Norwood, 86, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Rocky Hill Cemetery with Brother Kent Childers officiating.

Mr. Norwood was born August 23, 1937 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Dessie (Carswell) and Lemmie Norwood, and died Wednesday, March 27, 2024 in a local hospital.

Mr. Norwood resided in Lufkin and Houston most of his life and retired from Cameron Iron Works and Lufkin Industries where he was a machinist. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Patricia (Landers) Norwood of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Sandy Norwood of Etoile; daughter, Sandra Morgan and Andre Krizan of Houston; grandchildren and spouses, Justin and Rigitza Norwood, Taylor Norwood, Courtney Hanzel, Lacie Norwood, Linsie Norwood, and J.C. and Tamara Norwood; and seven great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James C. Norwood; and sister, Margie Barley.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the services.
