Beatrice Smith

Funeral services for Beatrice Smith, 91, of Nacogdoches, formerly of Angelina County, will be held Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Interment will follow the services.

Mrs. Smith was born August 9, 1930 in Trinity County, Texas to the late Beula (Bynum) and Samuel Brock, and died peacefully Saturday, June 25, 2022 in a Nacogdoches hospital with her son by her side.

Mrs. Smith lived most of her life in the Lufkin, Hudson and Huntington areas. She had resided in Nacogdoches for four years. She and her husband owned and operated A&B Body Shop for 22 years. Mrs. Smith had served the last 11 years in the HHS Foster Grandparents Program.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Kim Smith of Nacogdoches; grandsons, Zachary Smith of Bastrop and Brandon Smith of Tyler; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Buford Smith; daughter, Sandra Curry; and sisters, Genava Whitworth and Audrey Montes.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the services.
