Funeral services for Audie Ray Christie, 79, of Hudson will be held Friday, March 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church with Pastor Bryan Lipscomb officiating. Interment will follow in the Largent Cemetery.
Mr. Christie was born June 2, 1938 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Gracie Elma (Dunn) and Roy McCoy Christie, and died Monday, March 26, 2018 in a local hospital.
Mr. Christie had resided in Hudson all of his life and retired after working at Lufkin Industries for 38 ½ years as a Welder and Foreman. He was a Deacon at Providence Baptist Church, taught Sunday School and led the Wednesday night services.
Mr. Christie was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, always putting a smile on everyone’s face with his great sense of humor and jokes. He was a man of deep faith, relying on his heavenly Father for his salvation and in his daily walk. He also touched many people with his sincere honesty and integrity.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Faye Christie of Hudson; son, Daryl Christie of Hudson; daughters, Teressa Williford and husband Bill of Coppell, Cindy Jones and husband Marty of Brady, Kim Coleman and husband Michael of Sunland, California, and Tina Olalde and husband Antonio of Hudson; grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Kendra Williford, Christie and Chandler Wright, Jordan and Haley Jones, Tori Jones, Anna Coleman, Austin Coleman, Blake Hanes, Shea and Tim Carey, and Colton Landrum; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Imogene Reed of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Doris Christie of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Verbal Christie and Preston Christie, and sister, LaVerne Anderson.
Pallbearers will be Blake Hanes, Jordan Jones, Chris Williford, Austin Coleman, Antonio Olalde, and Tyler Creed.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Culp, Charles Nick, Ronnie Pavlic, Scott Green, Jerry Rudd, Allen Lehr, and Marvin Best.
