Funeral services for Aubrey Luce, Jr., 71, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mark Livingston officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Aubrey was born February 17, 1947 in Beaumont, Texas to Claudia (Register) and the late Aubrey Luce, Sr., and died Wednesday, April 11, 2018 in a local hospice facility.
Aubrey had resided in the Lufkin area all of his life and was self-employed. He served his country in the United States Navy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who adored his grandchildren. He was always attending his grandchildren’s various events and he was their biggest fan. He loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, and was an avid turkey hunter. He served as banquet chair of the Pineywoods National Wild Turkey Federation Chapter for eight years and on the State Chapter NWTF Board. His tireless work and commitment gave the group a boost of new committee members and table sponsors and he helped propel the chapter into one of the top spots in the nation. He was a member of Keltys First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Sharon Luce of Lufkin; daughter, Shanon Loggins and husband Allen, Jr. “Bubba” of Lufkin; son, Stephen Luce and wife Ashley of Garrison; grandson, Samuel Loggins and wife Darian, Joseph Loggins and wife Sydney, Aaron Loggins, Preston Loggins, all of Lufkin; and Wyatt Luce of Garrison; great-granddaughter, Avery Loggins of Lufkin; sister, Claudia Petty and husband Tommy of Kennard; brother, Karry Luce and wife Jan of Lufkin; mother-in-law, Pearl Price of Lufkin; brothers-in-law, Richard Price of Wells and Paul Price of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and father-in-law, Murl Price.
Pallbearers will be Dale Bounds, Jimmy Horton, Samuel Loggins, Joseph Loggins, Aaron Loggins, Preston Loggins, and Wyatt Luce.
