Ashley Schaeffer Burks

Memorial services for Ashley Schaeffer Burks, 49, of Nacogdoches will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Harmony Hill Baptist Church with Dr. John W. Greene officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Ashley was born July 9, 1971 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Janis (Martin) and David Schaeffer, and died Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in a hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Ashley had resided in Nacogdoches for 11 years, and formerly resided in Broaddus. She was a 5 ^th grade math teacher at San Augustine Elementary. She was very out-going and never met a stranger. She had a servant’s heart. She especially loved and adored her children and grandchildren, and also adored her students. Ashley loved the Lord and was an active member at Harmony Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Burks of Nacogdoches; daughter, Courtney Schaeffer of San Augustine; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeremy and Brittany Schaeffer of San Augustine, Johnathon and Christa Coulter of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Kayden, Emmilee, Meela, Wyatt, and Whitten, who is on the way; mother, Janis Schaeffer of San Augustine; sisters and brothers-in-law, Tammy and Gary Fountain of San Augustine, Lesley and Joe Knight of Lockhart; parents-in-law, Roy and Robbie Burks of San Augustine; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Schaeffer; and mother-in-law, Judy Burks.
