Arvy Jean Cox

Funeral services for Arvy Jean Cox, 89, of Corrigan will be held Friday, November 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with her sons and Pastor Phil Corbett officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Corrigan. Please be respectful of others and be sure to practice social distancing.

Mrs. Cox was born September 9, 1931 in Colmesneil, Texas to the late Lydia (Kieffer) and Arvy Herndon, and died Monday, November 2, 2020 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Cox was a graduate of Woodville High School. She was an Insurance Agent for Langham Langston Dyer Insurance in Houston. She served others as a Pastor’s wife and was a member of First Assembly of God in Corrigan. Mrs. Cox was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by all.

Survivors include her sons, Gary L. Cox of Corrigan, Mark Cox of Huntington; grandchildren, Kari Leigh Miller and husband Kasey of Llano, Vicki Lynn Widner and husband Cody of Colmesneil, Gary Lee Cox II and wife Dorothy of Llano, Kathy Jean Gray of Spring Branch, Cliffton Chase Cox and wife Haley of Corrigan, Lydia Marie Cox of Huntington; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 47 years, Lee D. Cox; and grandson, Phillip Mark “Bo” Cox II.

Pallbearers will be Kasey Miller, Cody Widner, Gary Cox II, Cliffton Cox, Dusty Miller, and Aiden Shepherd.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. both Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the funeral home.
