Antonio Ortiz Vargas

Funeral services for Antonio Ortiz Vargas, 70, of Corrigan will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at New Life in Christ, 718 Hendry Road, Corrigan, with Pastor Maria Anzaldua officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Ortiz Vargas was born June 3, 1950 in Abasolo, Guanajuato, Mexico to the late Dionisio Ortiz Lopez and Gregoria Vargas Cruz, and died Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in Livingston.

Mr. Ortiz Vargas had resided in Corrigan for 20 years. He loved farming and watching after his animals. Mr. Ortiz Vargas was a member of New Life in Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha (Manriquez) Ortiz of Corrigan; daughter, Bertha I. Ortiz of Corrigan; sons and daughters-in-law, Alex and Carla Ortiz, Mario and Patricia Ortiz, Emmanuel and Veronica Ortiz, and Jonathan Ortiz, all of Corrigan; grandchildren, Mauricio, Estefanie, Angel, Kassandra, Mario, Jr., Valentina, Alex, Jr., Aylen, Alexia, Adamaris, and Noah; several brothers and sisters; and a number of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Bertha I. Ortiz, Alex Ortiz, Mario Ortiz, Emmanuel Ortiz, Jonathan Ortiz, and Mauricio Ortiz.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday evening at New Life in Christ.
