Anne Christine "Chris" (Samford) Weaver

December 19, 1968 — November 18, 2024

Funeral services for Anne Christine “Chris” (Samford) Weaver, 55, of Pollok will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Trey Ainsworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Zavalla Cemetery.

Chris, as she was known to her family and friends, was born December 19, 1968 to the Charles Maurice “Reese” Samford and Joan (Besner) Samford. She passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at her residence, surrounded by friends and family, after a battle with cancer.

Chris obtained an associate’s degree in Journalism from Angelina College and a bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Chris was a wonderful artist and photographer and she enjoyed painting, taking pictures, and restoring old furniture. If you were riding with her and you passed a piece of furniture on the side of the road, there was a strong chance you’re taking it with you.

Chris had a talent for making holidays and birthdays special for everyone around her. If you mentioned something you wanted or needed, she would either bring it to you, or it would show up on your porch.

Chris was a hard worker who was always there to help a friend or family member in need. When she arrived on the scene, she would put her head down and work tirelessly until the job was done.

Chris was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. To know Chris was to love her and she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Richard Weaver; son, Andy Weaver and fianceé Haley Cotten; stepsons, Clayton Weaver and wife Michelle, Larkin Weaver, and Lucas Weaver; grandchildren, Case Weaver, Lyla Weaver, Myah Weaver, Aspyn Cotten, and Alex Weaver. Coming from a large family, Chris is also survived by her sisters, Diane Morgan and husband Dave, Susan Frey and husband Dan, Deb Edwards, Celia Gubera, Paula Caldwell and husband Brad, Pam Mays and husband Gary; brothers, David “Buzz” Samford and Scott Samford; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her mothers-in-law, JoAnn McCoy and Taffie Weaver; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Jimmy Dixon and Michael Weaver; and special friends, Theresa Bingham and Sherry Cooley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Mike Samford and Joey Samford.

Pallbearers will be Scott Samford, Dan Frey, Brad Caldwell, Gary Mays, Clayton Weaver, and Ellis Rogers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
