Anne Belle Basey

Funeral services for Anne Belle Basey, 102, of Huntington will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Highway Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Lamar Denby officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Oddfellows Cemetery.

Mrs. Basey was born March 20, 1919 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Anne (Stuart) and Herbert Gibson, and died Thursday, September 30, 2021 in a local hospital. She was a lifetime resident of the Huntington/Zavalla area. She loved her family and her church, Highway Missionary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the church quartet for many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Taylor of Huntington; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Guy Basey; grandson, Kevin Taylor; son-in-law, John Taylor; brothers, Loy Gibson and Virgil Gibson; and sister, Leona Yeates.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Highway Missionary Baptist Church Mission Fund, 212 S. Main Street, Huntington, Texas 75949.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Highway Missionary Baptist Church.
