Graveside services for Alvin Glenn “Sonny” Dominey, 81, of Huntington will be held Monday, June 29, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Ben Walker Cemetery with Brother Vic Bass and Pastor Darryl Smith officiating.
Mr. Dominey was born December 30, 1938 in Huntington, Texas to the late Glennis Irene (Horton) and Odis Dominey, and died Friday, June 26, 2020 in a local hospital.
Mr. Dominey was a lifetime resident of Huntington. He served in the U.S. Army and worked in management at various businesses including Waller Sheet Metal, Southern Pacific Railroad, and The Booster newspaper. He used the computer extensively. Mr. Dominey was a member of the Rabbit Breeders Association and was nationally known for his rabbits. At one time he was a member of Lala Hill Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent. His membership is currently with Huntington First Baptist Church. Mr. Dominey loved his family dearly, especially his helpmate who preceded him.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Martin Dykes of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Crystal Dominey of Huntington; grandchildren and spouse, Hali Dykes, Seth and Briana Dykes, Hubert Dykes, all of Huntington, Christopher Dominey of Lumberton, and Michael Dominey of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Noah Dominey, Ryker Dykes, and Pecos Rose Dykes; brother and sister-in-law, Otto and Yealonda Dominey of Houston; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, LaDell (Turner) Dominey; and brothers, Roger Dominey, Andy Dominey, Jerry Lynn Dominey, and Wayne Dominey.
Pallbearers will be Seth Dykes, Christopher Dominey, Michael Dominey, Detre Dominey, Richard Dominey, and Jimmy Dominey.
