Alton "Kirk" Johnson

Funeral services for Alton “Kirk” Johnson, 68, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Love Tabernacle with Brother Ronnie Frankens, Brother Gentry Wilkerson, and Brother Ron Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Sand Flat Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born October 14, 1949 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Vida Agnes (White) and Afton Kurbth Johnson, and died Saturday, November 25, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Johnson was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and owned Rolling J Transportation and RJT Equipment. He loved to work, tend to his cattle and horses, and attend equipment auctions. Mr. Johnson was a longtime member of Greater Love Tabernacle.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Aliene (Williams) Johnson of Lufkin; son, Jimmy Dean Johnson of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Stephanie Johnson of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Doug Wise of Burke; grandchildren, Ashton Johnson, Chance Johnson, Kaydi Havard, Chaney Jo Johnson, Karli Wise, Gracelyn Becka, and Colton Johnson; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Havard, Bentley Johnson, Kysen Johnson, and Kolter Johnson; sister, Carolyn Morris of Diboll; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded by his parents and sisters, Mini Frances Johnson, Frankie Cummins, Billie Williams, Bobbie Williams, and Mary Ann Hobbs.

Pallbearers will be Chester Bowman, Marvin Robinson, Brian Frankens, Junior Frankens, Scott Frankens, Kent Henson, and Randy Frankens.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Modisette and Kenny Modisette.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning prior to the services.
