Funeral services for Allen Clay Parker, 53, of Lufkin will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother M.L. “Bud” Magee and Brother Robert Forrest officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in the Gann Cemetery under the auspices of the Wells Masonic Lodge #915 A.F. & A.M.
Mr. Parker was born May 3, 1965 in Lufkin, Texas to Wanda Joy (Dixon) and Allen Leon “Sonny” Parker, and died Monday, July 16, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Parker had resided in Angelina County most of his life. He was a 1983 graduate of Central High School. He was the first baseman on the 1983 State Champion Baseball team.
Mr. Parker worked for Brett Fenley Logging. He was a member of the Wells Masonic Lodge #915 A.F. & A.M. and a member of O’Quinn Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Clancy Parker of Lufkin; daughter, Lauren Holcombe of Lufkin; mother, Joy Parker of Lufkin; brother and sister-law, Cody and Kristy Parker of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Kathy Walker of Lufkin; nephews, Chandler Parker and Caydin Parker, both of Lufkin; niece, Kallie Parker of Lufkin; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sonny Parker; and brother, Perry Parker.
Pallbearers will be Brett Fenley, Roy Westbrook, Shawn Modisette, Kelly Wesley, Jack Lee, and Adrian Neal.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
