Alice Marie Lowery

Funeral services for Alice Marie Lowery, 93, of League City, formerly of Bald Hill, will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Roger Fancher officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Lowery was born August 26, 1931 in Diboll, Texas to the late Nettie (Clark) and Earl Smith, and died Monday, November 25, 2024 in League City.

She resided most of her life in the Bald Hill area and Diboll and had lived in League City for over 12 years. She was an LVN and retired from Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital in Houston. Mrs. Lowery was a longtime member of Bald Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Shiree Rice of League City, Suzann Van Arsdal of Galveston, Darlene Abshire and husband Kirwin of Pearland, and Glenda Lowery of Homer; grandchildren, Shawn Hodges, Kara Heath, Leah Wood, Jessica Hayslip, Matthew Wood, and Monica Hayslip; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Glen Lowery; and son-in-law, Robert Van Arsdal.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Hodges, Clayton Hodges, Chandler Hodges, Matthew Wood, Coby Heath, and Hunter Newell.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
