Funeral services for Albert Clefton “PeeWee” Vinson, 76, of Pollok will be held Monday, May 1, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Michael Self officiating. Interment will follow in the Pollok Cemetery.
Mr. Vinson was born September 17, 1946 in Wells, Texas to the late Mary Lou (Hodges) and John Preston Vinson, and died Saturday, April 29, 2023 in a local hospital.
Mr. Vinson retired from Oncor (Texas Power & Light when he started) following more than 55 years of employment. He enjoyed having a cup of coffee, watching John Wayne westerns, tractors, and mowing his yard. Mr. Vinson loved and adored his grandchildren and attended every activity they participated in. He was a member of Allentown Congregational Methodist Church.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Kim Vinson of Jacksonville; daughter and son-in-law, MaryAnna and Chance Kimbrough of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Kaci Vinson, Lane Vinson, Daffney Vinson, Colton Kimbrough, Kody Johnson, Ella Kimbrough, and Kreek Johnson; boys who were raised as sons, Terry Wesley and Chris Wesley, both of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Doyle and Beverly Vinson of Pollok; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Charles Brooks of Dayton, Wanda and Bob Greenville, and Martha McMillon, all of Pollok; sister-in-law, Cathy Vinson of Pollok; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kelly and Elizabeth Wesley of Pollok; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 49 years, Shirley “Susie” (Wesley) Vinson; twin brother, Robert Vinson; parents-in-law, S.L. and Anna Ruth Wesley; and brothers-in-law, Morris McMillon and Tom David Wesley, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Vinson, Jay Vinson, James Brooks, Tyler Vinson, Kody Johnson, and Lane Vinson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kreek Johnson, Colton Kimbrough, and Tony Greenville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pollok Cemetery Association, 302 Shirley Lane, Pollok, Texas 75969.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
