Alan Moore

Funeral services for Alan Moore, 61, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Truett Newton officiating. Private interment will follow in Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Moore was born May 19, 1962 in Lubbock, Texas to the late Jan (Norris) and Robert Raymond Moore, and died Friday, March 1, 2024 at his residence.

Mr. Moore was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He retired as Vice President of Moore Brothers Construction in 2023. His career at Moore Brothers spanned over 40 years, from being a crew superintendent to project manager before becoming Vice President. Mr. Moore was an avid fisherman and fished numerous tournaments, including 28 tournaments with FLW, the Media Bass tournament, and the Thursday night tournament. He was a member of First Christian Church Lufkin.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Kathryn (Whisenhunt) Moore of Lufkin; son, Ben Beaty of Katy; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Kelley Moore, and Brian and Amanda Moore, all of Lufkin; nieces and nephews, Maci Jan Moore, Abigail Moore, Raymond Moore, Kimberly Graham, Dominic Napier, Lexi Gonzalez, and Aiden Gonzalez; uncle and aunt, Jerry and Carol Moore of Lufkin; cousins, Andrew Moore, Benjamin Moore, and Erin Moore; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Ernie Rowe, Hugh Anderson, Terry Haney, Michael Bennett, Brian McKinney, and Robert Davis.

Honorary pallbearer will be Stanton Marsh.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
