A.G. Patterson

Graveside services for Alvin Glenn “A.G.” Patterson, 92, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Pool Cemetery in Montgomery County.

Mr. Patterson was born June 23, 1926 in Waukegan, Texas to the late Claudia Beatrice (Plunk) and Paul Patterson, and died Sunday, August 12, 2018 in a local nursing home.

Mr. Patterson had resided in Lufkin since 1993. He served as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from EGC Corporation. Mr. Patterson was an avid bowler, woodworker and gardener. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jewett.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Mary Nell (Jones) Patterson of Lufkin; sons, Johnny Patterson and wife Felicia of Jewett and Glenn Otis Patterson of Eatontown, New Jersey; grandchildren, Traci Patterson of Houston, Jaime Mottu and husband Jerome of Kingwood, Amanda Severs and husband Darrall of Marquez, April Dixon of Porter, Keri Jo Patterson of Tucson, Arizona, Kelli Patterson of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Scott Patterson of Houston, Stephen Patterson and wife Leisa of Valley Mills, Bobby Jumper and wife Shelia of Magnolia, Mark Dixon and wife Carrie of Pollok, Michael Dixon and wife Ashley of Porter, and Corey Patterson of Sierra Vista, Arizona; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Brumley of Riverside; son-in-law, Bobby Dixon of Pollok; daughter-in-law, Lavina Patterson of Houston; four nephews; and one aunt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry Dean Patterson; and daughter, Nancy Lynette Dixon.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
