Funeral services for Abimbola Oladele-Ajose, 88, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Oladele-Ajose was born March 16, 1934 in Calabar, Nigeria to the late Christiana O. Sodeinde and Ebenezer O. Phillips, and died Monday, August 8, 2022 at her residence. She had resided in the area for 10 years.
Mrs. Oladele-Ajose had a few passions. The first of which was her children. She ruled her brood with a sharp watchful eye and instilled in them the dignity of labor, the opportunities opened by a sound education and the inestimable value of family. She loved music and one of her favorite artists was Harry Belafonte. She found inspiration in the Holy Scriptures and personalized her walk with Christ. While in Nigeria she was involved in the prison ministry of the Trinity Methodist Church in Lagos. Grandma Ajose as she was popularly called, cultivated friendships with ease and methodically kept close tabs with friends and family. Most of all, Grandma Ajose could smile. Her smile was pleasantly infectious as it lit up her face. She found joy in everything and was quick to say a blessing and a prayer for you. Her grandchildren were her joy and she loved them unabashedly.
Grandma Ajose leaves with us a legacy to cherish and hold tight to. Though we may never hear that sweet voice again or bask in the warmth of those arms again, we know that she is looking down from Heaven’s gates where we shall one day meet again. Till then rest in peace our sweet, sweet angel.
Survivors include High Chief Oladotun O. Akinlade, Prince (Engr) Adewale Oladele-Ajose, Dr. Olufemi Oladele-Ajose, Prince Olusegun Oladele-Ajose, Princess Adebisi Otusanya, Prince Adeniran Oladele-Ajose, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other extended family members.
