Graveside services for Betty Ann (Hammond) Ard, 71, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hillcrest Cemetery with Ms. Odell Plummer officiating.

Mrs. Ard was born February 10, 1946 in Trinity County, Texas to the late Christine Ann (Odom) and Jack Hammond, and died Sunday, September 17, 2017 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Ard had resided in the East Texas area all of her life, spending the past 25 years in Lufkin. She was a homemaker and loved playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of New Hope Chapel and loved going to church. Mrs. Ard enjoyed listening to country music and reading poems.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Jean Webb and Robert Andrews of Lufkin; grandchildren, Tammy Jean King of Lufkin, Joseph Leon Yates of Diboll, Jessica LeeAnn Yates of Lufkin, Jimmy Thomas Webb of Huntington, Vivian Marie Webb of Brenham, Wayne Speer of Lufkin, Stephanie Chaney of Lufkin, Michael Crippen of Lufkin, and Tammy Kay Burch of Huntington; great-grandchildren, Sarah Jean Dannar, Christopher Glenn King, Kaspian Eli Yates, Aryanna Yates, Isabella Yates, Braison Marcum, Mackenzie Marcum, and Hazel Castillo; brothers, Ray Hammond of Florida and Bill Hammond of Houston; special friend, Shirley Phillips of Lufkin; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Walter Glenn Webb, daughters, Elizabeth Ann Webb and Ida Rivas; and sister, Jean Strata.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Yates, Jimmy Webb, Jessica Yates, Greg Letney, Dakota Mott, and Robert Andrews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Armstrong and Joshua Holt.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon prior to the service at the cemetery.
