A Celebration of Life Service, followed by an interment, for Helen Jo Richardson Cochran, 88, of Zavalla will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cochran Cemetery with Brother Alex Montilla officiating.
Mrs. Cochran was born June 13, 1929 in Zavalla, Texas to the late Mellie Mae (Smith) and Joseph H. Richardson, and died Sunday, September 17, 2017 in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Cochran was a graduate of Huntington High School. She devoted her time to her family which she loved dearly. Mrs. Cochran was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her son, David Cochran and wife Marie of Lufkin; grandsons, Hans Hoose and wife Carroll of Pollok, Eric Cochran and wife Theresa of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Joshua Cochran and wife Kimberly of Plano; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Talmadge Cochran; son, Billy Joe Cochran; sister, Betty Jordan; and brother, Joseph M. Richardson.
Pallbearers will be Buel Puryear, Hans Hoose, Jerrell Jordon, Leland Cochran, Eric Cochran, and Joshua Cochran.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cochran Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 520, Huntington, Texas 75949 or Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning prior to the service at the funeral home.
