Laverne Wade

Funeral services for Laverne Wade, 78, of Diboll will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Carlos Martinez, Pastor Ronnie Frankens, and Pastor Richard Gray officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Wade was born March 13, 1939 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Martha (Morton) and John Edward Miley, and died Thursday, September 14, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Wade had resided in this area all of her life. There will never be another like her, as she was always putting others before herself. Her priority was loving her Lord and her family. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She retired as a Designer at Alene’s, and her time spent working there was some of her favorite. Mrs. Wade enjoyed fishing and always out-fished her husband! She was a member of Thomas Crossing United Pentecostal Church. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Willie Ray Wade of Diboll; sons, Roy Wade and wife Melanie of Huntington and Bruce Wade and wife Kathy of Lufkin; daughter-in-law, Debbie Wade of Lufkin; grandchildren, Melanie Wade Dorsett, Roy Wade, Jr., Justin Wade, Staci Wade, and Stephanie Wade Holland; a number of great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Jordan and husband Paul of Nacogdoches County; sister-in-law, Betty Self and husband James of Trinity County; brothers-in-law, Dwayne Wade and wife Roxanne of Huntington and Dwight Wade and wife Patsy of Nacogdoches County; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Darrell Wade in 2011; grandson, Matthew Wade in 1996; and sister, Hazel Grimm. Pallbearers will be Roger McClure, Joe Kelley, Junior Harvey, Richard Dyson, Sr., Richard Dyson, Jr., and Cody Suggs. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
