Graveside services for Elois C. Weisinger, 89, of Lufkin will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Bob Klund officiating. A “Celebration of Life” Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 noon at Believers Bible Church.
Ms. Weisinger was born August 22, 1928 in Galveston, Texas to the late Bertha Rae (Miriam) and Robert Baker, and died Monday, September 4, 2017 in a local nursing home.
Ms. Weisinger had resided in Lufkin for 40 years after moving from San Augustine. She was the Manager at Kwik Check for 18 years. She loved to sew for her family and friends and Missions. She was known for making quilts for her grandchildren. She was a member of Believers Bible Church and enjoyed Bible Study with others there. Her pastor, Bob Klund, fondly remembers her deviled eggs. She was an active member of the Evening Lion’s Club for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Weisinger of Lufkin; son, Paul Weisinger of Lufkin; grandsons, Paul Weisinger, Jr. and wife Dee of the U.S. Marines in Hampstead, NC, Aaron Weisinger and wife Rita of Conroe, and Daniel Weisinger of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Marcus, Eric, Rylee, Katryn and Wesley; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Weisinger; and sister, Rosemary Matthews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Southland and Hospice in the Pines.
