Georgia Lynn Mcmillion Heflin

Funeral services for Georgia Lynn McMillion Heflin, 67, of Wells will be held Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Wells with Brother Wesley Matchett officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Heflin was born February 22, 1950 in Lufkin, Texas to Bettie (Herman) Pounds and the late Mayford McMillion, and died Thursday, August 31, 2017 in Hospice in the Pines due to complications following lung cancer.

Mrs. Heflin graduated from Wells High School in 1968 and lived in Wells most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Wells and the Christian Motorcycle Association. She enjoyed her travel club and watching her grandchildren’s sports and school activities.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Lynn Heflin, Sr. of Wells; mother, Bettie Herman Pounds of Wells; children and their spouses, Raye Lynn and Frank Hibdon of Pollok, Steven and Alicia Monday of Wells, Gary “Scooter” Lynn, Jr. and Lisa Heflin of Garrison, and Barbara Ann and Ray Martin of Spring; grandchildren, Heather and Creed Moore of Huntington, Dusty Goodwin and Scott and Samantha Hibdon, all of Pollok, Matthew Courtney US Navy, Emily Monday of Wells, Miriam, Rebekah, Joshua and Hannah Ahmed of Spring, Michael and Kaycie, Felicia, and Catherine Heflin of Garrison, and Nathaniel Heflin US Navy; great-grandchildren, Alexis Weeks and Luke Moore of Huntington, Levi Heflin of Nacogdoches, and Emma Matthews of Pollok; sisters, Jerri Gail Cartwright and Dorothy McMillion, both of Wells and Rita Torres of Lufkin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Patricia Heflin and Jason and Susie Heflin, all of Nacogdoches; sister-in-law, Barbara McDaniel of Nacogdoches; nephews, Todd and Melanie Pounds, Rochele Pounds, Jared Woffard, Jeremy Pounds, Michael “Kookie” Flores, Troy Flores, Gary Flores and Rhett Flores; nieces, Leah Cartwright, Veronica and Mike Ramey US Navy; great nephews, Seth Pounds, Mason Pounds and Michael Liam Ramey; great niece, Haylie Pounds; special friends, Brian and Elizabeth Walker of Appleby; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; husband, Allen Ray Monday; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Cartwright.

Pallbearers will be Greg Heflin, Jared Woffard, Donnie Goodwin, Jeremy Pounds, Brian Walker, and Dusty Goodwin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Don Golf, Tony McKnight and Jason Hattermann.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
