Graveside services for Audra Faye Dixon Stanfield, 95, of Lufkin will be held Friday, September 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gann Cemetery with Brother Steve Cowart officiating.
Mrs. Stanfield was born July 19, 1922 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Dora (Nobles) and Jim Crowder Dixon, and died Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in Hospice in the Pines Inpatient Facility in Lufkin.
Mrs. Stanfield had resided in Lufkin for the past 29 years. She retired from Emery Air Freight in Houston as the Bookkeeper. She worked in Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) Association in Houston for many years and was President of the Union Baptist Association for 11 years. One of her passions was teaching Sunday School classes. She taught in Houston and Lufkin for many years and is fondly remembered by several former class members. She will be remembered for her compassion for others, always taking time to visit those who were homebound or in need of a hug. Mrs. Stanfield also owned and operated Faye’s Second Time Around in Houston, a resale/consignment store, where she was known for her generosity, as she regularly would just donate items to those in need. She was a member of O’Quinn Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Ray Stanfield and wife Pat of Crockett; grandson, Tyler “Ty” Stanfield and wife Kelly of Houston; granddaughters, Tori Stanfield of Crockett and Larissa Doyle of Houston; great-grandchildren, Pepper, Kai, and Van Stanfield; sisters, Joy Parker and Liddie Nerren and husband Wayne, both of Lufkin; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Jimmy Stanfield; son, Johnny Dean Stanfield; brothers, Truben Dixon and Jack Dixon; and sisters, Juanita Young and Jimmie C. Parker.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her nephews, Johnny Dixon, Jimmy Dixon, Mac Wise, Randy Nerren, Clay Parker, and Cody Parker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
