Betty Grace Richardson

Funeral services for Betty Grace Richardson, 82, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Elton Musick officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery. Mrs. Richardson was born September 16, 1934 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Blanche (Murphey) and Emmett Harlan “Skinny” Williamson, and died Monday, August 7, 2017 in a local hospital. Mrs. Richardson had resided in Lufkin all her life. She was an avid joker player and loved Jeopardy. But her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother…“Mawmaw”. She was a strong prayer warrior and a lifelong member of Grace Baptist Church, formerly Clawson Baptist Church. She was very well-loved by her family, friends and all that met her. Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Kay Vinson of Lufkin, Rita Elaine Kahlke and husband Henry of Dewitt, Michigan, Anita Gay Cheavens and husband John of Lufkin, and Sherry Jean Horton and husband Greg of Flower Mound; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Ricky Williamson and wife Diane of Athens and Danny Williamson and wife Theresa of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Jean Brown of Athens, Tennessee; brothers-in-law, Delbert Richardson and wife Dine and Burl Richardson and wife Lois, all of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Richardson; son-in-law, Dale Vinson; sister, Linda Williamson; and great-granddaughter, Emily Hance. Pallbearers will be Greg Horton, Buck Hance, John Cheavens, Henry Kahlke, Travis Wealand, Wesley Vinson, Cody Cheavens, J. R. McDaniel, Phillip Vivar, Marc Schibig and Nathan Dilla. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, 8319 FM 2021, Lufkin, Texas 75904 or the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
