Travis Zane Loving

Funeral services for Travis Zane Loving, 72, of Lufkin will be held Monday, July 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kevin Poage officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery. Mr. Loving was born October 21, 1944 in Lufkin, Texas to Juanita R. (Renfro) Smith and the late Travis Lee Loving, and died Monday, July 3, 2017 in Houston. Mr. Loving had resided in Houston for 30 years and the rest of his life in Lufkin. After he served his country in the United States Air Force, he spent his entire career self-employed in the construction business. He enjoyed country and western dancing and his daughter fondly recalls what a great dancer he was. Mr. Loving loved people and gave love freely. He never met a stranger. He was very compassionate and enjoyed making others laugh and brightening their day. His mother remembers how devoted her son was to her, calling her every day and bringing her roses. He put his family above everything else and they could always count on him being there for them. He was of the Christian faith. Survivors include his mother, Juanita Smith of Lufkin; daughter, Dana Loving-Sparks and husband Michael of The Woodlands; sons, Travis Dean Loving of Spring and Clinten Zane Loving of Houston; grandchildren, Hunter Sparks, Austin Sparks, Michelle Loving, Alyssa Loving, and Riley Loving; brothers, Autry Lane Loving and wife Roseanne of Trinity and Richey “R.W.” Loving and wife Fran of Conroe; stepbrothers, Billy Smith and wife Ria and Paul Smith and wife Leslie, all of Oregon; stepsister, Ginny Meriwether and husband Gerald of Houston; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Ann Loving; father, Travis Lee Loving; and stepfather, George Smith. Pallbearers will be Shane Loving, Billy Don Webster, Joe Renfro, Chance Martin, Justin “PeeWee” Carpenter, and Larry Renfro. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
