Genny Lynn Bynum

Funeral services for Genny Lynn Bynum, 60, of Texarkana will be held Friday, July 7, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Jones and Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in the Sand Flat Cemetery. Mrs. Bynum was born September 26, 1956 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Mollie Mae (Redd) and William David Thompson, and died Tuesday, July 4, 2017 in Texarkana. Mrs. Bynum retired as a Library Aide from Texarkana Independent School District. She was a charter member of Heritage Church in Texarkana. Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Gary Bynum of Texarkana; daughter, Becky Bynum of Texarkana; grandson, Kobi Johnson of Texarkana; sister, Kelly Aldredge and husband Ricky of Alvarado; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, LaJune and Charles Yates of Huntington and Deniece and Frank McCarty of Lufkin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Donna Bynum of Troutville, Virginia; special cousin, Terry Summers of Nacogdoches; extended family, Allison Blair, Ariel Vallejos, and Ashley Roberson; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jorden Bynum; nephew, Randy Yates; and brother, Steve Thompson. Pallbearers will be Alton Steptoe, Justin Summers, David Collmorgen, Frank McCarty, Jacob Carter, Charles Yates, Noah Beason, and Jimmy McCarty. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2400 Augusta Drive, Suite 175, Houston, Texas 77057. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
