Eva Gertrude Dillon Richmond

Funeral services for Eva Gertrude Dillon Richmond, 91, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Kyle Campbell and Jim McDonald officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Richmond was born February 20, 1926 in Wells, Texas, the daughter of the late Edna Lucy (Roberts) and Jewel Lewis. She died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at her residence in Lufkin. Mrs. Richmond had previously worked for 10 years at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center as a Dorm Service Attendant. She had lived in Lufkin since 1960, and had also resided in Corrigan and Houston. Mrs. Richmond was a member of Loop 287 Church of Christ. She was an avid reader and volunteered at ACSCC. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Glynda and Thomas Wright of Flower Mound, Evadell and Jimmy Berwick of Florence, Colorado, Linda Napier of Lufkin, Edna and Dale Murphy of Huntington, Ronnie and Jeanie Gates of Willis, Billy Gates and Shana Scott of Lufkin, and William “Matt” and Theresa Dillon of Waco; twenty-three grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Richmond was preceded in death by her parents; husband, A.W. “Bill” Dillon; and grandsons, Matthew Dillon and Anthony Gates. Pallbearers will be Quintin Berwick, Wesley Berwick, Brandon Berwick, Ronald Gates, Josh Mott, and Jeremy Mott. Honorary pallbearers will be Dakota Dillon, Robert Arrington, and Jason Gates, as well as all her grandsons. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
