Judith L. Brandenburg

Funeral services for Judith L. Brandenburg, 77, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Steve Killam officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mrs. Brandenburg was born July 8, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Virginia (Riesilman) and Carl Riggs, and died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 in Lufkin.

Mrs. Brandenburg had resided in Lufkin most of her life and she was a homemaker. She loved to read and enjoyed puzzles. She loved going to church and attended St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Esther Bollier, Donna Sweet and spouse Larry Eugene, and Barbara Martin and spouse George, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Alicia Dawn Highsmith and spouse Steven, Michele Rene Torres and spouse Minerva, Donald Sweet, Joshua Allen Sweet, Toni Adams and spouse Daniel, Dallas Martin, and Spencer Martin; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald L. Brandenburg; and son, Matthew Dale Brandenburg.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Martin, Daniel Adams, Donald Sweet, Joshua Sweet, Steven Highsmith, Minerva Torres, and Patrick Henderline, Sr.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
